Cocytus 0.2.1 — clean-container verification report
Date: 2026-09-30. Environment: minimal Linux x86-64 container (gcc present, no ldconfig cache, no docker).
1. Build finding (matches the earlier hotfix draft)
Unpatched BUILD.sh fails: libX11.so.6 was not found (exit 1) — even though /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libX11.so.6 exists on disk. Root cause: ldconfig cache missing in stripped containers. The three-stage fallback fix (ldconfig -> well-known paths -> cc -print-file-name) was applied and resolves it. Verified on this container.
2. Full build with hotfix — PASS
Seed compiles (cc -std=c11 -O2 -Wall -Wextra -Werror), all apps/examples/positive tests compile.
SELFHOST.sh: COCYTUS_SELFHOST_OK, compiler_sha256=56dfe31a0e0cbc73fd46dd484e970af820fc0ce0b91ad9a73f99a2c59d855bc6
REGENERATE_CORE_IMAGE.sh: OK (generated source/cocytus-core.coc)
core compile: OK
Note: git clone loses the exec bit on SELFHOST.sh/REGENERATE_CORE_IMAGE.sh; running via sh works.
3. Test suite — PASS (4/4 negative, 1/1 positive)
tests/positive/judecca_exact.coc: compiles rc=0.
tests/negative/judecca_invalid_budget.coc: rejected at COMPILE time (rc=2, 'invalid instruction: judecca 3 0').
tests/negative/judecca_overuse.coc: compiles, faults at RUN (rc=6, 'judecca access fault address=3').
tests/negative/judecca_redeclare.coc: compiles, faults at RUN (rc=6, 'judecca declaration fault address=3').
tests/negative/judecca_undeclared.coc: compiles, faults at RUN (rc=6, 'judecca access fault address=3').
Design note: shipped prebuilt .cob files for negatives are byte-identical to freshly compiled ones (verified cmp). The compile-time/runtime-fault split appears intentional; documenting it in 00_START_HERE.md would help newcomers.
